Degenerative Back and Neck Conditions

Degenerative changes in the spine are those that cause the loss of normal structure and/or function due to wear and tear. Repeated strains, sprains, and overuse of the back cause a gradual degeneration of the disks of the spine. At DHR Health Spine Center of Excellence, we provide you with the best options using either conservative management or minimally invasive approaches.

Interventional Spine Therapies

DHR Health offers interventional spine therapy for patients who have not responded to conservative measures (such as physical therapy, chiropractic treatment, massage, or medications) and are not yet candidates for conventional spine surgery. Interventional therapies include a wide range of treatments including Nerve Block Injections, Facet Joint Injections, and Sacroiliac Joint Injections.

Neurosurgical Navigation

Our neurosurgical navigation system allows your surgeon to visualize your anatomy in 3D, as well as to localize instruments relative to your anatomy throughout the procedure. Our surgeons will manage a combination of a computer and specialized software and instruments to see exactly where they are during surgery, allowing them to operate with the utmost accuracy while avoiding harm to any healthy areas.

Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy

Our rehabilitation services include an Aquatic Therapy Institute, Physical Therapy, and an Orthopedic & Sports Therapy Institute. Our goal is to help patients achieve as much function and independence as possible. Learn more.

Spinal Cord Stimulation

For patients experiencing chronic back pain, DHR Health Spine Center of Excellence offers Spinal Cord Stimulation. This involves placing electrodes along the spinal cord that will send low levels of current to help block pain signals in chronic back pain. The electrodes are connected to a pulse generator battery which is hidden below the skin.

Spine Surgery

If you have attempted several options with conservative treatment without relief, surgery may be the best option. Our DHR Health spine surgeons offer surgical techniques which may include open or minimally invasive spine surgery. Selecting minimally invasive spine surgery as opposed to open spine surgery can be faster, safer, and require less recovery time.
