David Cardenas

David Cardenas

David Cardenas is a rising fourth-year medical student thrilled to join the surgical team for a sub-internship. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, David has a strong interest in plastic surgery and hand surgery. He recently completed a research fellowship in the Plastic Surgery Department at UT Southwestern, where he focused on projects related to hand surgery and treatment of major keloids. In his free time, David enjoys the outdoors, spending time with his younger 4 brothers and playing sports. He is eager to contribute to patient care and learn from the expertise of the surgical team during this rotation.

Saba Siddiqi

Saba Siddiqi

My name is Saba Siddiqi, and I am a third-year medical student at the University of Houston College of Medicine (UHCOM). Although I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, I now call Katy, Texas, my home. I plan to pursue a career in Internal Medicine.

Gabriella Tavera

Gabriella Tavera

Gabriella is a third year medical student at the University of Houston Fertitta Family College of Medicine in Houston Texas. She was born in Nigeria and moved to Houston to attend Texas Southern University for her undergraduate education and is currently in medical school to become an OBGYN . Gabriella is a natural leader and serves as the assistant regional director for the Student National Medical Association Region III where she oversees chapters in Texas, New Mexico and Colorado. At her medical college, she is actively involved as a student ambassador and serves on the executive boards of several organizations. She is an advocate for mentorship and service in her community.

Wamic Zaidi

Wamic Zaidi

My name is Wamic Zaidi. I'm 26 years old and was born in Pakistan and moved to the U.S. in 2002. I grew up in and around Austin, TX for the majority of my life. For undergrad, I attended The University of Texas at Austin where I got my BS in Psychology. After graduating from UT, I worked as a Behavioral Therapist before I started Med School. I am interested in going into Family Medicine.

Cameron Cooper

Cameron Cooper

As a native Texan, I graduated with honors from Texas State University with a degree in Microbiology and a double minor in Psychology and Biochemistry. I chose TJFFCOM for medical school because I have a passion for serving the underserved and underrepresented. Following graduation, I plan on pursuing a career in a surgical specialty for the U.S. Army and conduct global health missions throughout my career.
