DHR Health's Nurse Apprenticeship Program is a career path that allows nursing students to work in a healthcare facility while completing their education. Apprenticeships can help students gain experience, develop skills, and earn money while working towards their registered nurse (RN) program.

Nurse Apprenticeship Program
Student Performance
- Assisting patients with daily activities like bathing and dressing
- Performing basic medical procedures like changing bandages, taking vital signs, and administering medications
- Working closely with registered nurses (RNs)
- Shadowing hospital staff to gain real-world experience
Plan of Action
Throughout the program each student will follow a preceptor to a 1-to-1 ratio.
Each preceptor is a registered nurse that has completed the DHR Health preceptor training. They also require prior years of experience as an RN and a minimum of one year training in the department they are currently working in. DHR Health's role is to provide the "on-the-job training", throughout the students' RN program.
This program not only helps students develop their skills but also helps them build connections and understand the healthcare workforce outside of textbooks.

Purpose
- To experience a realistic working environment
- To provide opportunities for interaction with physicians and other healthcare providers
- To gain hands-on experience and familiarize themselves within the DHR Health environment
- To expand clinical knowledge and skills
