Doctors Hospital at Renaissance Giving

Renaissance Cares Foundation

The Renaissance Cares Foundation is a non-profit corporation dedicated to improving the lives of families in the Lower Rio Grande Valley.

Our MISSION is to improve the public health of communities in the Rio Grande Valley and to identify and address the barriers to quality healthcare through direct community engagement, health education services, research programs and charitable giving for those families most in need.

Our VISION is to create a culture of health and well-being in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) to prevent, treat, and/or manage medical conditions of individuals through outreach, education, research, charitable care, and family assistance.

The PURPOSE of the Renaissance Cares Foundation is to provide structured programs that offer goods, services, and/or funds to economically disadvantaged individuals living in the RGV. These programs include providing education and awareness on the prevention and management of medical conditions through: workshops, seminars, conferences, and lectures; providing nutritional guidance and literature; and, supporting scientific research projects and training on medical conditions with high prevalence in the RGV.

The Renaissance Cares Foundation Board of Directors found a substantial need to create a foundation based on the number of individuals who are underserved, under-insured, veterans, teenagers, senior citizens, and those individuals who, due to limited access, have not received the healthcare and preventive services they require.

Therefore, the identified needs of eligible participants in our programs will be broad based and include unemployed adults, those adults needing medical care including post-surgical care, prescriptive medication needs, individuals unable to function independently in society for health and behavioral reasons, as well as low-income students, individuals with disabilities, and single parents with children.

As Texas non-profit 501c3 corporation, donations made to the Renaissance Cares Foundation are tax deductible. All donations and charitable giving is tailored to individual needs and hardship requests and are reviewed and approved by a majority vote of the foundation board.
