Our surgeons are active members of the American Society of Bariatric Surgery and specialize in providing a range of weight loss surgery procedures that set the benchmark in bariatric surgery programs worldwide.

To provide ongoing support, Renaissance BMI hosts monthly meetings for patients who have had surgery and those interested in weight loss surgery. Family members are welcome to attend.
Dr. Manish Singh, Medical Director, Advanced Laparoscopic & Bariatric Surgery
Dr. Manish Singh is board certified in surgery and specialized in Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery. He was trained in weight loss surgery at the Bariatric and Metabolic Institute (BMI) at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.
In addition to bariatric surgery, his specialty interests include gastroenterology and general surgery. Dr. Singh has conducted extensive and ground-breaking research on weight-loss surgical procedures and has published multiple articles and book chapters on topics of bariatric and laparoscopic surgery.
Dr. Robert E. Alleyn, Advanced Laparoscopic & Bariatric Surgery
Dr. Robert Eugene Alleyn graduated from the University of Texas Medical School of Houston in 1985. He completed his general residency at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston,Texas. From 1991-1992 Dr. Alleyn served in the US Army at Darnell Army Hospital in Fort Hood, Texas. He was part of the 475th MASH unit in Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
Dr. Alleyn received his certification by the American Board of General Surgery in 1992. He is board certified in general surgery by the American College of Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In addition, Dr. Alleyn is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
Dr. Ambrosio Hernandez, Advanced Laparoscopic & Bariatric Surgery for Pediatrics
Dr. Ambrosio Hernandez graduated from the University of Michigan School of Medicine. He completed a fellowship at the University Of Michigan Department of Surgery and an additional fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Dr. Hernandez completed a Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery Mini Fellowship at The Center for Advanced Skills Training at the Cleveland Clinic. He is board certified in pediatric and general surgery by the American College of Surgeons.
He is a member of American Pediatric Surgical Association, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and International Pediatric Endosurgery Group. Dr. Hernandez is fully dedicated to the practice of surgery for both adults and pediatrics in the growing communities of South Texas.
Belinda Jordan, MD, Bariatrician
Dr. Belinda Jordan graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1999. She completed her residency at McAllen Medical Center in McAllen, Texas and is board certified in family medicine. She received additional training in bariatric medicine and is a diplomat of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. Dr. Jordan is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Medicine, American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and American Society of Bariatric Physicians.
Dr. Belinda Jordan underwent bariatric surgery in 2005, allowing her to provide patients a unique perspective given her personal experiences and professional expertise. She provides medical weight loss services as well as the pre-operative and post-operative care for the bariatric surgery patient. Dr. Jordan, together with our bariatric team, provides a comprehensive experience for both surgical and non-surgical patients conveniently in one location at the Renaissance Bariatric and Metabolic Institute.
Nancy Rocha, BS, MS, CP, Exercise Physiologist
Nancy Rocha comes to us with expansive experience in the health and fitness field. She obtained two bachelor's degrees from Texas State University; one in Nutrition and the other in Exercise Science. Long before graduating from the University, she worked as a group fitness and health instructor and continues to do this as she has dedicated her career to aiding people in their goals to achieve optimum health.
Currently Nancy also works as a professor at the University of Texas-Pan American and teaches kinesiology courses to broad scope of students as well as future physical fitness educators. Nancy is our Exercise Physiologist and teaches bariatric foundational courses in exercise and fitness. She emphasizes surgery is the first step to attaining their goal, but physical fitness is a life-long endeavor.
