Accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care 

DHR was awarded Chest Pain Center Accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC), as evidence of its high level of expertise in dealing with patients who arrive at the hospital with symptoms of a heart attack. To become an Accredited Chest Pain Center, DHR engaged in a rigorous evaluation by SCPC for its ability to assess, diagnose, and treat patients who may be experiencing a heart attack. 







 


Accredited Heart Failure Center by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care

Doctors Hospital at Renaissance was awarded Heart Failure Accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care (SCPC), an international not-for-profit organization that focuses on transforming cardiovascular care by assisting facilities in their effort to create communities of excellence that bring together quality, cost and patient satisfaction.






Advanced Level III Trauma Center


As a Level III Trauma Center, DHR demonstrates the ability to provide prompt assessment, resuscitation, surgery, intensive care and stabilization of injured patients and emergency operations. Physicians of numerous disciplines must be available 24 hours per day to provide optimal care for injured patients.  The trauma care team at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance includes emergency physicians, trauma surgeons, trauma nurses, anesthesiologists and anesthesia nurses, respiratory therapists, and radiologists. Other necessary care providers include neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, pediatric surgeons, plastic surgeons, cardiologists, oral-maxillofacial surgeons, urologists, and ophthalmologists.






Aetna Institute of Quality-Bariatric Surgery Center     

Doctors Hospital at Renaissance Bariatric and Metabolic Institute (DHR BMI) is designated an Aetna Institute of Quality® Bariatric Surgery Facility for treating individuals living with morbid, or extreme, obesity. Aetna recognizes hospitals and facilities in its network that offer specialized clinical services for certain health conditions.


 



American Heart Association “Get With the Guidelines” Heart Failure 
Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award with Target: Heart Failure


DHR has received the Get With The Guidelines®-Heart Failure Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology Foundation’s secondary prevention guidelines for patients with heart failure. DHR earned the award by meeting specific quality achievement measures for the diagnosis and treatment of heart failure patients. These measures include evaluation of the patient, proper use of medications and aggressive risk-reduction therapies, such as ACE inhibitors/ARBs, beta-blockers, diuretics, anticoagulants, and other appropriate therapies. 







 



American Heart Association “Get With the Guidelines” Stroke 
Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite


DHR received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award with Target: StrokeSM Honor Roll Elite. The award recognizes the hospital’s commitment to providing the most appropriate stroke treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence.





 


 


American Heart Association Mission Lifeline Gold STEMI Award

has received the Mission: Lifeline® Gold Receiving Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer severe heart attacks. The American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline program’s goal is to reduce system barriers to prompt treatment for heart attacks, beginning with the 9-1-1 call and continuing through hospital treatment.





 



American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine Accreditation
The Doctors Hospital at Renaissance Center for Maternal-Fetal Medicine has ultrasound (US) practice accreditation in the areas of Adjunct Detailed Fetal Anatomic US, Fetal Echocardiography, Obstetric-First Trimester, Obstetric-Second Trimester, and Obstetric-Third Trimester by the Ultrasound Practice Accreditation Council of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. It is with pride that we are recognized as the very first AIUM accredited Adjunct Detailed Fetal Anatomic US center in the state of Texas.

 



 ASGE Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program                                        

Honored for demonstrating a commitment to patient safety and quality in endoscopy, as evidenced by meeting the program’s rigorous criteria, which includes following the ASGE guidelines on privileging, quality assurance, endoscope reprocessing, CDC infection control guidelines and ensuring endoscopy staff competency.


 


   

CARF Accreditation for Inpatient Rehab Program, Adults and Adolescents


The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF International) awarded DHR with accreditation for a period of three years for its inpatient adult and adolescent rehabilitation programs. DHR’s superior performance during the accreditation review process placed it among the top facilities surveyed by CARF, both nationally and internationally. 





 





CARF Accreditation for Stroke Specialty Program, Adults 
The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF International) awarded DHR with accreditation for a period of three years for its adult stroke specialty programs DHR’s superior performance during the accreditation review process placed it among the top facilities surveyed by CARF, both nationally and internationally. DHR is the only program in South Texas with Stroke Specialty Program accreditation.






 




College of American Pathologists (CAP) Laboratory Accreditation    
The CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program is an internationally recognized program and the only one of its kind that utilizes teams of practicing laboratory professionals as inspectors. The goal of the CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program is to improve patient safety by advancing the quality of pathology and laboratory services through education, standard setting, and ensuring laboratories meet or exceed regulatory requirements. Designed to go well beyond regulatory compliance, the program helps laboratories achieve the highest standards of excellence to positively impact patient care.


 



Commission on Cancer Accreditation 
As a Commission on Cancer-accredited cancer center, Doctors Hospital at Renaissance takes a multidisciplinary approach to treating cancer as a complex group of diseases that requires consultation among surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, diagnostic radiologists, pathologists, and other cancer specialists.  This multidisciplinary partnership results in improved patient care. 


 



Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement 
Program (MBSAQIP) Comprehensive Center with Adolescent Qualification
Designation



The accredited MBSAQIP center at DHR offers preoperative and postoperative care designed specifically for their severely obese patients. The MBSAQIP Standards ensure that bariatric surgical patients receive a multidisciplinary program, not just a surgical procedure, which improves patient outcomes and long-term success.

 


 
National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers Accreditation

The only accredited breast center in the Rio Grande Valley, the Breast Center of Excellence at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance offers world-class, patient-centered medical care for those who are diagnosed with breast cancer or a breast disease. A breast center that achieves NAPBC accreditation has demonstrated a firm commitment to offer its patients every significant advantage in their battle against breast disease.



 

 
Surgical Review Corporation Center of Excellence Hernia Surgery   

The Center of Excellence in Hernia Surgery (COEHS) program ensures that the safest, highest quality of care is delivered to hernia surgery patients. DHR is the only accredited COEHS center in the State of Texas.








Texas Ten Step Facility Designation 

The Texas Ten Step Program serves as a method to improve maternity care practices in birthing facilities. The Texas Ten Step Program encourages breastfeeding as the preferred method of feeding for newborns and infants.DHR has been designated as a Texas Ten Step Program facility five times, earning its original designation in 2008.






     
The Joint Commission Advanced Inpatient Diabetes Certification

DHR earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™ for its inpatient diabetes care program by demonstrating compliance with national standards for health care quality and safety in disease-specific care.  The inpatient diabetes certification program is based on the American Diabetes Association (ADA) Clinical Practice Recommendations.






 



 

The Joint Commission Advanced Perinatal Care Certification          

The Women's Hospital at Renaissance received Perinatal Care Certification from The Joint Commission. The certification program recognizes Joint Commission accredited hospitals committed to achieving integrated, coordinated and patient-centered care for mothers and their newborns.


 




The Joint Commission Advanced Primary Stroke Center

DHR has earned the The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association's Heart-Check mark for Advanced Certification for Primary Stroke Centers. It is a signal to the community that the quality care provided is effectively managed to meet the unique and specialized needs of stroke patients. 





 



The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval for Pediatric Asthma

DHR earned The Joint Commisison's Gold Seal of Approval for Pediatric Asthma certification. The certification demonstrates a higher standard of care provided for the pediatric asthma patients in the community.
