ACUTE CARE MEDICAL RECORDS
Cerner’s powerful, intelligent Electronic Medical Record (EMR) delivers the most comprehensive set of capabilities in the industry. Built upon scalable, unified, person-centric Cerner Millennium® architecture, Cerner’s PowerChart ® solution functionality creates an enterprise-wide, multi-facility, longitudinal EMR that spans role and venue.
Authorized physicians, nurses, pharmacists, lab technicians and business office personnel can all access one patient record at the same time—an impossible task with a cumbersome paper chart. With a single, integrated EMR, information is available whenever and wherever it’s needed.
In addition, Cerner Millennium is designed with built-in expert medical knowledge which helps your organization increase efficiencies and eliminate manual actions.
By integrating existing laboratory, radiology and pharmacy data into a single enterprise clinical data repository, caregivers can reduce the risk of medical error and improve overall care quality. Having an EMR to manage the medical records of patients in both the acute care and ambulatory settings provides a mechanism to view, manage and store information, not just data.
Key Benefits:
-
Improve the quality and efficiency of care delivery
-
Combine financial, operational and clinical information for comprehensive analysis
-
Connect facilities hundreds of miles apart in a variety of settings, including acute, sub-acute, ambulatory and rehabilitation environments
-
Access current and complete patient information in a way that best suits your custom needs
PATIENT CARE
Nurses are the anchor for the entirety of a healthcare organization. From executing physician orders and administrating medication to educating patients and ensuring safety, nurses do it all. Yet nurses are often pulled away from patients, bogged down with administrative tasks and paperwork. Add to that a workforce shortage and a more complete picture of nurses’ daily lives begins to emerge with longer shifts and more patients. Inherently inefficient paper-based charts and records make an already challenging situation even more complicated for nurses and the patients in their care.
To combat these nursing challenges, Cerner offers CareNet®. This smart set of solutions offers healthcare organizations:
-
A powerful safety net that reduces errors and erases memory-based care
-
Evidence-based, decision support tools
-
Seamless, open communication for the entire care team
-
Closed-loop processes with electronic medication administration at the point of care
-
Automatic verification of the “five rights”
-
Greater efficiency via technology that promote a paperless environment, regulatory compliance and national quality designations
-
Time saved without redundant documentation
-
Increased job satisfaction and retention
CareNet’s solutions connect to Cerner Millennium PowerChart®, our unified electronic medical record. PowerChart creates an enterprise-wide record, combining clinical and financial operations, enabling care teams to plan, orchestrate and document for the best possible care. CareNet links a patient’s EMR to nursing activities, automatically documenting activities and simplifying communication between all members of the care team.
