Cancer Center at Renaissance (956)217-7050
Doctors Hospital at Renaissance Cancer Center does not just treat cancer, it treats people with cancer. Our patient-centered approach is distinguished by:
- Comprehensive diagnosis
- Proven & innovative
- Treatments
- Compassionate support for each patient
A high caliber, multi-disciplinary team of oncologist’s, nursing staff, and counselors determine the treatment plan best suited for each individual. Throughout the treatment, the team works together tending to the patient’s physical and emotional needs to ensure they receive the best possible medical care.
With state-of-the art images, our physicians are able to accurately diagnose and stage cancer and also to assess treatment progress.
Doctors Hospital at Renaissance has a wide range of Imaging Services including a 64 Slice CT, MRI, and PET-CT which give our doctors the information they need.
Radiation Oncology
The Cancer Center is equipped with the most advanced state-of-the-art equipment to deliver radiation therapy. Some of the services provided include Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), stereotactic radiosurgery and high dose radiobrachytherapy. Since today’s advanced technology allows physicians to tightly target the tumor, normal tissue is much less effected while the tumor is destroyed. That results in better tumor control which leads to higher cancer cure rates.
The Radiation/Oncology Center offers chemotherapy location, reducing patient stress and providing a continuum work with different cancers. The most common are chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and immunotherapy, which helps patients maintain a quality of life through nutrition and more.
Medical Oncology
The oncologist’s working at the Radiation/Oncology Center, along with trained oncology staff, will know which drugs and procedures are the most effective for treating different forms of cancer at different stages. They know how to reduce or eliminate side effects from chemotherapy treatments. The treatment planning office, and its 30 infusion treatment stations, are designed to ease the patient experience by providing both knowledge and comfort throughout the course of their treatment. This allows for the patient, or patients, to be treated in a comfortable and safe environment.
GE Lightspeeed RT16
The LightSpeed® RT16 delivers the power needed for advanced, accurate and productive 16-slice CT imaging for radiation therapy. It’s a powerful platform you’ll use well into the future to take advantage of breakthrough technologies and applications. With the LightSpeed RT, 16 power means possibilities. Precisely.
Precise imaging: With the RT16’s powerful 100-kW* generator and 800 mA* PerformixTM X-ray tube, you get exquisite image quality even in large patients.
Precise patient positioning: A generous 80-cm wide bore. A 65-cm display field of view. State-of-the-art patient table design. LightSpeed RT16 gives you the full flexibility and freedom you need to precisely position patients in even the most demanding case
Varian Medical Systems Linear Accelerator
As radiation oncologist explore dynamic conformal technologies to increase cancer cure rates and reduce morbidity, these new treatment techniques being developed require more precise delivery to allow for dose modulation and possible escalation.
A fully-accessorized Varian Medical Systems Trilogy medical linear accelerator is the most versatile machine in the world with the capability of offering all standard radiation therapies as well as the most advanced treatments that make it possible to concentrate more dose on tumors while protecting surrounding healthy tissue. It is expected to help doctors to improve cure rates for patients while reducing treatment complications. This accelerator is only one of two in Texas, with the other being used at M.D. Anderson, Houston, TX.
Clinac EX accelerators are high-performance systems with:
- Instant beam-on with dynamic treatment control
- The greatest number of energy options to treat the widest range of patients
- The most precise focal spot size for optimum portal imaging
- The highest dose rates across the energy spectrum for greater throughout
The Trilogy Stereotactic System
The Trilogy™ Stereotactic System is the most advanced, sophisticated machine of its type in the world.
As the leading image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT) system, Trilogy marks the beginning of a new generation of cancer care. The versatile Trilogy system combines imaging and treatment technologies, and can be used to deliver the widest range of external beam radiotherapies: 3D conformal radiotherapy,
IMRT, stereotactic radiosurgery, fractionated stereotactic radiation therapy and intensity-modulated radiosurgery for cancer and neurosurgical treatments. Advanced imaging capabilities built into the system allow therapists to position patients for treatment with submillimeter accuracy. A respiratory gating system compensates for any tumor movement that occurs as a patient breathes.
The Trilogy system is powerful, and it can deliver radiotherapy doses at least 60 percent faster than conventional accelerators. This shortens the length of time patients need to spend undergoing treatment. In addition, the radiation beam is highly precise, allowing clinicians to deliver treatments with unprecedented accuracy.

When people learn they have cancer, they need prompt medical care…and much more. They need timely information they can trust – information about their illness, their treatment, and the impact cancer might have on them and their families. Many need help with day-to-day issues such as finding a physician to care for them, locating transportation, finding financial assistance for medications, co-pay assistance and so forth. Many other cancer patients and their caregivers might also need emotional support; they need to talk with others who have faced cancer; someone who understands their situation and helps them understand that they are not alone in their battle. Meeting these needs through patient navigation is one of our priorities at your American Cancer Society.
As a leader in the fight against cancer, the American Cancer Society provides a comprehensive system of patient navigation for cancer patients and their families through our Patient Service Center. Patient navigators assist cancer patients in their time of need, connecting them with information, resources, support and helping eliminate barriers to needed care. Our goal is to help patients and their families have the highest possible quality of life and highest possibility of a successful health outcome.
Let your American Cancer Society connect your patients with the information, day-to-day help, and emotional support they need every step of the way — 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
