DOCTORS HOSPITAL AT RENAISSANCE CONTRIBUTES TO THE ANGEL TREE PROGRAM

EDINBURG, TX— Doctors Hospital at Renaissance is excited to partner yet again with the Salvation Army and the Angel Tree Program.  The Angel Tree program assists The Salvation Army in its efforts to provide a brighter holiday season for countless children, from 1 month to 12 years of age, and senior citizens in the Rio Grande Valley. Families apply for assistance at the Salvation Army in McAllen, and are then chosen based upon income and expenses. Over 800 families in the RGV have been helped so far this year. The toys collected by participating organizations and citizens are distributed to those in need on December 16th, 17th, and 18th, 2009.

During the 2008 Christmas season, Doctors Hospital at Renaissance provided gifts for over 1,000 children and senior citizens. DHR hopes to help even more Valley residents during the 2009 holiday season. Numerous DHR employees have “adopted” children for which they will provide gifts. Some employees have gone as far as asking their own children give up one gift they receive this Christmas to give to a needy child.

On December 11, 2009 Doctors Hospital at Renaissance employees assisted the Salvation Army in loading presents donated by DHR employees and friends onto the Salvation Army truck.
